This custom residence illustrates the versatility of a hybrid timber frame design. The design selectively places heavy timber elements where they make the most visual impact, specifically in the great room and epic back patio.

The main level is designed for easy, single-level living. It features a vaulted open-concept plan that connects the kitchen, dining, and living areas, alongside the primary suite and a second guest bedroom. The 10/12 roof pitch creates significant volume overhead, which the timber trusses help to scale down, making the room feel comfortable rather than overwhelming.

To maximize the hillside lot, the plan utilizes a daylight basement that significantly expands the home’s usable space without enlarging its footprint. This lower level houses a third bedroom, a dedicated office, a gym, and a large central bonus room. This tiered layout gives the owners distinct zones for work and recreation while keeping the main floor focused on daily living and entertaining.
